Engineers - Ideas To Replace These Trusses?

if it was mine, and I wanted to do that,

take a 2x12 or what ever the rafter is, and run it along the side of the of the current rafter and 2x4 truss ****, to the peak and bolt and glue it to the existing rafter with at least a 4 foot lap, on to the existing rafter, when it is in and attached cut out the 2x4 junk, if wanted do both sides, why they just didn't do the 2x12 rafter to the peak amazes me,

Because the trusses can only be so tall/wide going down the road. That too truss is basically a 6’ long truss on its own.

We do a lot of big ranches that have three piece stacked trusses because the roofs so tall/house so deep. So the first layer is 2x20-12/14 on occasion, second is 2x6/8 and last is 2x4/6.
