They're definitely nice hammers. I have a few knocking about. Didn't realise until I looked at their website that they still make the classic design head. The new design just has the number on it, but they still make that style, like yours above, too. Handy to know, as I much prefer the old style.

Vaughan rebrands them also, which is probably the easiest way to get them in America,
Just look for the made in England in the description.

Yes, good hammers!

For some applications, such as freeing stuck parts, the copper hammers work much better then other soft faced hammers as they transfer a bit of shock to get stuff moving, but still without marking the work!

Those Thorex ones with the iron heads seem to have more clout than most!

Thor copper/hide mallets used to be supplied in the toolkits of many British sportscars fitted with wire wheels, to tighten/loosen the wheel spinners.
(used to be able to pick up a couple for free at a car dismantlers yard,if I was lucky) :)

Have one in the boot (trunk) of '57 MGA; use it on the knock offs of the wire wheels as it will not mar the finish. Good modern replacement for original
