For WOODWORKING, the M12 is more useful, but. M12 Fuel can do 90% of what the M18 can do, the question is whether or not you'll run into that other 10%. Of course, the Fuel (brushless motors) is more expensive than the brushed tools.

Why is it more useful? Because working in small spaces is more important than big power with most woodworking.

In reality, any of the Big 4 (Bosch, DeWalt, Makita, Milwaukee) will do ya fine, although if I were looking at 12v I'd focus on Milwaukee and Bosch. (Full disclosure: I have Bosch 12v and DeWalt 20vMax, no Milwaukee cordless. I have been so pleased with the Bosch 12v that I just upgraded my drill/driver from the original brushed motor model to the new brushless motor version.)

I'd agree but spring for the XC flat bottomed batteries on the M12, it's so nice to have them stand up rather than lying them flat on the side.

Yea typically refurb carries less of a warranty. I think the CPO stuff I got was a year, might have been 3 on tools and 1 on battery.. I'm sure you can find it on their site. I wouldn't let that discourage you..

Just go on the HD site and search m18 Milwaukee combo. All the sale items will come up in the search and be clearly marked with "special buy".. not everything, but ALMOST everything I own Milwaukee has exceeded my expectations.. very hard to make a bad choice with them.

The M12 Fuel 2 tool kit at 199 plus free XC 6.0 is a good start, other M12 tools you could add later which might help for woodworking are M12 rotary tool, multi tool, sander...

I really wish people would stop misquoting and say Dewalts are made in USA, they are assembled in USA using global components which means almost all pieces from China. Yes Milwaukee is owned by a foreign company but the majoroty of their operations are in the USA just like Dewalt...

According to their website, factory refurbished tools get the regular manufacturer's warranty, and the non-factory refurbished stuff gets CPO's 60 day warranty. I've never had to return power tools. I've had them for years, and they work perfectly.

I bought a lot of stuff from CPO and Blinq, and they all appear brand new. I think they're just returns to the store that they can't legally sell as new.

Is it worth it going to like CPO and buying reconditioned tools or is it not worth the money saved?

CPO refurbs are my go-to when I need new power tools. The new prices are good as well. The warranty is shorter but with the big brands you get get replacement parts pretty easily.

I have had zero problems buying refurb tools. I typically only buy corded tools refurb or very rarely I'll buy bare tool cordless (almost never though because I want the 5 year warranty on them vs the 1 year for refurbs). I will never buy a refurb battery or kit containing a battery because I do not know what kind of life that battery has lived.

Ok so I need suggestions. Should I buy a m12 drill!driver combo with free 6 mah battery for 150 or a m18 driver/work light for 89 bucks only comes with one battery?
