Epoxy 8" Concrete Wall Without Prep? - Question for Armorpoxy

I just finished my floors with the Armorclad kit, but now when I look at the concrete lip around the walls, I'm not liking it. Can I just coat the epoxy over that without doing any prep work considering it won't have any traffic? I'll skill clean it, but can I skip the grinding/acid wash? As you can see, there is a small portion where the previous owner has started painting the concrete lip. It's also quite pitted too. I also plan to paint the 2x4 wood above the concrete lip too.

Hi, you generally can paint this without prep. If you don't have enough epoxy, paint some on a piece of cardboard and have a local paint sore match it with an enamel that matches.
