Epoxy applied incorrectly?

Hi! So I hired a company to Epoxy my 2.5 car garage floor. I was very diligent in emptying it and cleaning the floor before they arrived. Yesterday they sanded the concrete and hand troweled the first coat only where the pitting was. 1-2’ around the garage is raw. They filled the center crack with a mix of sand and epoxy. However when I went out to look at it last night there and several spots that are raised and a large area that is high where they did not trowel it smooth. My concern is… will all this uneven surface show through the final coat after flakes are applied? Should I request they sand those spots? TIA

Talk to them before they lay down the epoxy and make sure you are happy with their plan. Don't wait until the job is done. Don't pay them until you are satisfied with the job.

Before you get upset, talk with them about the process. Don’t start off accusing them of doing bad work, ask them what the next step is.

Nothing better than a homeowner with zero experience telling you how to do your job.

Dont tell them to do anything. Ask them questions, sure.

First, I would say you are doing the right thing by documenting. If this were my floor, the two biggest questions I would have is why was this left like this and what is being done where additional material is put down to make sure the two stick and there is no line? While I agree you don't need to be making accusations, I'm no roofer, but if they started in the middle of my roof, I'd have some 'questions'
