Epoxy Cleaning help

Ok.. I'v had the SW Shield-Crete on my garage floor for just about a year. Everything wipes up fine for the most part.

However, a couple weeks ago, I pulled in the tahoe (which was covered in snow) and we left for a trip. After I got back, I looked like after the snow melted it found a flat spot in the floor (about 2 ft x 3 ft) and just sat there and evaporated. Now I've got a dull stain on the floor that won't come off...

Any ideas on what to use to clean this?? I mean, it was just melted snow.. how damaging could it be???

All epoxies are different and you should test any cleaning method in an unseen portion of the garage before attempting. I would try simple green. If simple green does not work I would try it in conjunction with a buffer.

Depending on the urethane or the top coat it may be a permanent discoloration in which case you would have to repair it

I'd try Simple Green first too. A call to SW tech services would give you insight into products they know work and are safe for your floor.

No, I'm not. It could be salt.. if it was.. what the procedure for cleaning that ****?

I just cleaned my Epoxy-coat floor for the first time in 3 months. I would occasionally squirt it off to keep the amount of dirt and salt down, but there were much tougher areas that wouldn't come clean. Up here in Ohio, they use salt, gravel, and beet juice so my floor was pretty well messed up. I knew it would be a test to see how the epoxy has held up and was anxious to see if it stained or discolored anywhere.

I didn't have any concentrate Simple Green on hand, so I went to the next best thing...dawn soap. I made up a bucket like I would to scrub the vehicles and just threw it across the floor. Using a scrub brush, and wishing I had a tank of Oxygen (to help breathe, as this was tough work) it came much cleaner than I expected! Give it a try, if that doesn't work then definitely try some Simple Green.

I know next time I have to do a floor I'll leave the Alum. Oxide out as it definitely makes cleaning/squeeging the floor much more difficult!
