I know there are loads of people that have thought about this before, but i couldn't find any posts about it:

My situation:
new construction 2-car garage

My choices:
  • One layer of epoxy-coat
  • 2 layers of rustoleum PLUS one layer of clear-coat

what do you guys recommend? cost-wise, both solutions are about the same (~$250). Any cons/pros between the two products?
The only thing i can think of is that the rustoleum kit may take longer to apply, but on the other hand i'll have 3 coats vs. 1.

A couple of things you may want to consider are :

1. One coat may not cover to your satisfaction,
2.Three coats are probably better than 1 for durability, despite what Epoxy Coat might claim...

Just my $.02 worth...

Yeah, don't trust what the Rustoleum product says.

First, I bought the 2.5 car garage kit for $100, as I have a 2.5 car garage. I am doing half at a time, too. So I took one bucket of A and one of B (half of the kit) and mixed it and spread it. I didn't even cover half of my garage, and on top of that, the coat was VERY thin. If I had layed it on thick, I would have only gotten 1/3 of my garage covered, at best.

So I found myseld using the second half of the kit to apply a second coat to the first half of the garage. Now I'm out another $100 on another 2.5 car kit just to get basically 1.5 car's worth of garage.

I think he was talking about one coast of Epoxy-Coat.
Do you have pics of your install?

Unfortunately no. I'm lazy with the camera :)

I'm still working on getting the second half-done... So once that is completed, I'll be taking pics and posting for everybody to comment on :)
