I have searched for foam in the title under the flooring and couldn't find this anywhere so here goes:

I will be epoxy coating about 500 sq ft in the up and coming weeks with Epoxy-Coat. I have a 1 inch border of Foamular 250 insulation around the perimeter which is level with the concrete floor and can be seen from above.

Will the epoxy adhere to, damage, melt, etc the foam insulation border?

I know some types of foam don't like some chemicals and basically melt to nothingness.

What do you think?

Thanks

Edit: I also thought of one other question. Can the epoxy coat stand up to direct sunlight. There is a small portion of the floor that extends past the garage door to outdoors. I thought about covering this with epoxy or maybe just the clear...Or do you suggest that I stop the epoxy at the door seal and just seal the 6" to 8"concrete part past the door with concrete sealer?

The Foam will not melt from coating it with Epoxy but will likely crack eventually. You could easily mix up a bit and test before prepping the whole floor.

I would not put epoxy and especially clear in direct sun. Most members prefer to stop the coating on the inside edge of the garage door seal. That is the plan for my garage coating project this coming week. My neighbor put down some Menards cheaper coating all the way past the door about 10 inches and his door pulled up the coating the next day when he opened the door.

Stop the epoxy at the door. anything that will be exposed to UV light constantly will amber (yellow) over time. Not a good look.
I would like to see a picture of the foam. I think it should be fine, but would like to take a look at it.

Any recs between the garage door and the expansion joint to the driveway? Would a concrete sealer work? I have some pitting in that area and will correct before putting down the epoxy, but would like something over the top of this to further protect. Thanks!
