planning on putting down epoxy coat in a 3-car garage this weekend. Weather looks like a high of 93, with no rain forecast. It's the midwest though, so there is humidity.

Question #1: Anything to avoid or prep for in regards to the high temps?
#2: I have the clear coat and want to apply this. What's the early end of the window in these temps in which I could apply the clear coat? And how do you know it is "dry enough"?
#3: Should you use fans while curing to maintain air movement?
#4: Should the garage doors be left open during curing?

Based on my last floor that used a two part epoxy
1) no, just make sure it's clean and dry
2) ask mfg - I didn't use a clear and top/second coat type application "flash" time will vary by mfg
3) it cures from chemical reaction so fans are not really needed
4) I would not

Falcon is right on... You should be fine so long as there is no remaining moisture at the surface of the concrete. Do check with the documentation that comes with your product.

I'm in the same boat and the people at epoxy coat told me to try and do all of the coating early in the morning to avoid the high temperatures. High temperatures are okay it will just cure faster so you need to work faster or mix smaller batches. Also consider that the concrete temperature will lag behind the air temperatures.

I would be up at 5 am and try to be done by 8am doing the Epoxy in those temperatures - also make sure you get some extra rollers - they will harden on you and will not work the material well. I'd have one for each batch I was planning on putting down just to be safe - rollers are cheap.

I just did mine two weeks ago with the same temps. I started at 500AM and finished about 730 then applied the clear coat at 1100PM that night. The garage doors were open in the morning but I closed them at night to prevent bugs in the lights. I did use a respirator during the clear though. This was with Epoxy-coat. Extra rollers are a must when the temps are elevated. Can always take them back! Chad

Just finished up. Put down the first coat of gray from 7AM to 9:30 AM. Was cured enough to put down the clear coat at 2:00PM. Clear was down and done by 2:45. No bubbles, no problems. Went smooth. Curing now at 90 degrees. Will post pics once cured.

Just finished a job in Dallas this week. Above 100º at midnight. I guessed the pot life was 2 minutes, not more than three. Turned an easy job, into work.:headscrat

#3. Fans will cause bubbles.
