Epoxy-Coat Clear Question

Hi everyone! I recently finished up my basement floor with epoxy-coat, and will be applying the clear coat very soon (its been drying for close to 11 hours now), and plan on doing my garage floor after my basement is finished.

My question is, do I stir up the clear and use it straight out of the bucket, or am I supposed to mix an activator with it? The kit and a half of clear I bought has no instructions regarding this, and I used all the part a and part b on the floor already.

So, in a nutshell, can I use the clear straight out of the bucket?

(oh and I am using the clear from epoxy-coat.com)

Time is ticking down for me, as I dont want to have to sand 700SF to make sure I get a good bond. Since nobody so far has an answer for me, im going to stir up a bucket of clear and test a small amount in a hidden spot and see how it looks.

If anyone has any kind of opinion, please express it as time is starting to run short for me, I would truly appreciate it.

I would think you need two parts, isn't there any info on there web site?

No, none that I can find. The only activator that came with the kit was for the epoxy itself, and once the floor was finished, I had no epoxy or activator left.

I have to admit, I am very happy at the way it turned out, but I want a really glossy, almost mirror like finish for my floor. It looks great, but the flake chips stand out of the finish too much for my taste. I guess im picky but I want a really glossy floor for my mancave.

I just saw this post, I hope you called for info. Sounds like everything turned out well for you.
For the others, the clear is the exact same as the colored epoxy. Same mix ratio with Part A and B.

Urethanes usually have a higher gloss level than clear epoxy which will give you what you want, but it will not last with either. Walking on it takes away the shine. The only good high shine is concrete polishing and even then you need to use a buffer with a restoration pad every year or so to keep the shine.
