I used a kit and a half of Epoxy Coat for my 540sq ft floor. That came to 4 1/2 gallons of paint. I used the gray with about 4 pounds of flake.
The concrete was poured about 5 months ago and had no stains. I prepped with a 4 to 1 muriatic acid mix about three times before I got the desired texture. I neutralized with a solution of baking soda and water followed by a power washing. I let everything dry for about a week to be on the safe side.
After everything dried, I noticed the concrete had the fuzzy fiberglass hairs sticking out, but they were barely visible. Apparently, my concrete guy had it added when he did the pour. I decided to paint over them because they were very short and I figured they would just add another means of bonding the epoxy to the concrete. This is what I told myself, but the truth was I was sick of prepping the floor and it was starting to get cold and I just wanted to get it over with. So what I wound up with was a shiny, non skid floor. You can see the roughness in the reflections in the pics below. If it wasn't so shiny, I would like it better. Maybe I'll knock the shine off with a wet sanding.
Overall, I'm happy with the product and I don't see this stuff peeling off anytime soon. It appears well bonded to the concrete, especially after I tried to pry some off without success.
As for the application of it, it took about 1 1/2 hours with a helper. I used the same roller and cut in brush for all six sections. I was expecting to use a lot more, but I think the 65 -70 degree weather slowed down the drying process somewhat.
