I'm looking for a little help/experiences regarding epoxy floors. But first a little history... I had my garage floor professionally epoxy coated with a medium grey with no flakes... concrete was 1 year old, they diamond ground the entire floor, applied one coat then sprinkled aluminum oxide (for non slip) and then applied one more coat to cover that. Since I have a heated section (toy/work shop, 1700 sq. ft.) and an unheated section (day to day vehicles 800 sq. ft.) I ended up having a third coat applied to the heated area as it was too rough and hard to sweep. Once the third coat was on in this area it was perfect finish wise.
Now my issue... I was expecting this to be the ultimate coating that would stand up to anything I would do as the system used is more commercial than residential. My issue is that it marks VERY easily and also leaves tire imprints where I park a car on it for any length of time. Meaning if I drag a 2x4 across my floor it leaves not so much a deep gouge but it does leave a mark that is permanent and looks like ****. In fact if you just twist your foot on the floor even when clean it leaves a swirl that is permanent. Also when I even park my riding lawnmower on it, it leaves a permanent imprint.
Now finally, my question... am I expecting too much from this coating, or should it not be like this?
Thanks for any and all thoughts!
