Looking to epoxy my garage floor in the coming months
Question about the retainer wall, does this get epoxy coat also?
How about under the garage door do you stop at the door or do the apron outside?

Thanks for the input

we'll generally run our floor system up the wall if its concrete.

here are a few pics for examples....:rocker:

We stop our floor stems on the "flat part of the slab and stop at the door!

good luck!

I agree with both the previous posts :)

Here is what I tell people. MOST of the time, you end up ordering more epoxy than you need, because of the 'kit' sizes. By Kit I mean the two parts. If that is the case, use what you have.

If it means buying more epoxy then I would use a paint in a complementary color.

I have also found that the primer is a huge deal on the vertical surfaces. They just soak up a ton of material if you don't prime.

Thanks for the information
What would I use for the apron?
I'm assuming that the reason you don't epoxy the apron is due to being exposed to the elements?

A breathable product is best. Acrylic Sealers work great and are available in many gloss and color arrangements.

You want to stop at the door for a few reasons...
Epoxy will amber over time when exposed to strong UV light.
The tight molecular lock created by epoxy also keeps moisture from passing through it, moisture can collect beneath it helping to dis-bond the product.

Acrylics as mentioned are super clear, so no ambering and they have a lesser molecular lock allowing moisture vapor to pass through.

Our newest product HD6600MMA is great for this and is resistant to much more than the average acrylic sealer can withstand.
