Bad-mouthing a competitor then touting his own product is pretty transparent. Not that SW is the best (it may ****) but I haven't read anything negative here about their product. If you go 100% solids and end up with a 20-25 mil coating I'm not convinced Company A's product is much different from Company B's. I would go with the best combo of price and support. If you have a question or problem in the middle of doing your floor is there someone to call?

Legacy, you may want to tone it down a bit.

I went to SW and looked at what they had but went with Quikrete at Lowes. I'm happy with it. I asked the SW guy if it was his garage what would he use and he said their industrial grade epoxy. Said it is real "hot" though. I guess that means there is a shorter window of time to get it on the floor. I looked at the kit you have linked and don't know about the degreaser powder. Try some bond lok and you'll see what I mean about it. Also I don't know about the "•No induction, or sweat-in time is necessary, just mix and apply". Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Jeez those cans on the Legacy Industrial website sure do look familiar. I think they are re-badged Sherwin Williams containers!!!

Guys,

Sorry for the bravado.
I will give credence to Sika, Devcon and Stonhard,etc... reputable epoxy manufacturers. It may be an unrealistic coincidence but I have literally been on 6 jobs that did not cure, all were SW.

It's not fun and it's not funny.

Possible it was their water/solvent home grade and not their commercial 100% epoxy? I have not used it, but have seen many happy customers of it, since I have been on this journal.
You show class with this apology though.

I was at the Lowes yesterday and they didn't have quickrete, so I asked the guy and he said, quickrete bought back all of their products as they are coming out with new product. This sounds little fishy, why would they buy back old product if they are going to be coming up with new product? Anyone has any idea on new product etc

Most of the products that you get at the big-box stores are water based.
My parents actually did their floor with Rustoleum, it worked for them and they are too far from me to have me do it.

The products that commercial/industrial companies use are either VOC Compliant solvent based or what we call "high solids" type coatings.

If you used these more robust coatings on your home garage floor it would probably last you for life, especially if you topcoat with urethane.

The urethane keeps the epoxy from yellowing. All epoxy will eventually yellow.
