Just wondering what you guys are getting out of your floor life. Im debating epoxy vs just sealer and I was just reading on Allgaragefloors seeing that epoxy seems to have 2-5 year life where the newer polyurea floors may last 10. Not very convincing for how much money is invested. Taking out a collection of tools/mill/benches, etc to recoat a floor every 5 years is not in my future if it holds true.

You must of been reading our article about the home improvement store epoxy paint kits.

https://allgaragefloors.com/why-epoxy-paint-kits-get-a-bad-rap/

We explain in that article why those kits don't last long. Despite some of the deceptive marketing tactics the manufacturer's use, they are basically the bottom of the barrel in terms of epoxy coatings. There are much higher quality epoxy coating systems that can be purchased by vendors who specialize in concrete coatings.

We've been distributing Wolverine Coatings products for more than 10 years now and many (if not the overwhelming vast majority) of the applications are happily in service today. We get the occasional re-order on the EnduraShield 2254 for those who are super rough on their floors i.e. machine shop environments, diesel mechanics and want to freshen them up. I always advise customers to pick their colors carefully because they're going to be stuck with it for a very long time...!

A well attached epoxy or polyurea floor can last indefinitely.
Even if it loses luster over time, it can be easily recoated to look good for another 10-20 years!!

Depends on the traffic! It can last forever in the regular house garage, but definately not in auto repair shop!

Thanks for the info. My application is just a home shop. I still may just Ghostshield the thing and be done. Its easy to reapply and wont need to worry about color later when reapplying

Ghostshield, which we carry, is an excellent choice. If you go with an epoxy and you maintain the topcoat based on wear, usage, etc the floor will last forever.
