Epoxy floor prep - swirl marks

I just finished wet grinding (yes I just read that dry grinding was preferred) and there are some swirl marks that I just noticed after washing the floor. I used a machine from a local rental shop with diamond blocks. Will these grind marks show through on Metallic epoxy floor in a basement? Also, the other photo is of the floor after hand grinding some crack repairs with a 4.5 in diamabrush hand grinder. It seems that the diamabrush got down further and the other parts of the floor are still darker. Should I grind the rest of the floor again with the larger diamabrush that can be rented from Home Depot?

My floor looked exactly like that and it worked out perfectly. I believe that swirl is what the epoxy really grabs onto and deters hot tire pick-up and the like.

Sorry, do you mean use the diamabrush or it's fine the way it is?

The first grinder left some darker areas next to the crack repairs as in the last pic. Will the epoxy adhere as well to those areas? It's definitely better than what it was as seen at the edge of the floor! Thanks!

U had varying shades as well, half my garage was a newly poured slab, the other half from the 50s, I was looking for pictures but unfortunately I didn't take any thought the grinding phase. As long as the floor is porous and the swirl marks are present in that section, I don't think you'll have a problem. As I said before, it looks very comfortable to the way mine looked. Not to mention I riddled the floor with areas of 100% solids epoxy patch after grinding and before the polyurea to fix problem areas. Came out superb!

Proper metallic coatings require an epoxy primer first - preferably dark in color. If you are using a primer, you will be good and should not see these marks or have the darker colors of concrete telegraph through the coating.
