Ok after appx 8 yrs the clear coat has started to fail and I noticed a few wks ago a small spot starting to bubble up. Well last week I started to loosen up the loose spots on the floor. I went to town and scraped a good amount off.

Now I have a "step" between the concrete and the old epoxy. I re-epoxied this area to reduce the gap

I plan to redo the garage using the following product. My issue is it states self leveling but I am worried about the small step in the area showing (last photo). Will this self level and be unnoticeable?

Assuming the rest of the floor was properly adhered, and assuming you are going to prep old epoxy before recoating, and that it is all compatible, etc., I would think you'd still notice that, and would consider flaking to rejection to help cover it all up, but someone who actually knows what they are doing will chime in

I put the original floor down it was prepped correctly and applied correctly. I have spoken to rust oleum on the prep/comparability and have all the info and yes was told it will be fine as long as it is prepped. 9/10 people probably wouldn't notice the imperfection but I will :(

That much floor coming up looks like a prep issue.
Maybe grind it and start over.

Nope, it lasted 5-6 years. Jacking my truck up cracked a section and scraping to remove the edges spread. I caused most of it knowing I was going to re do since the clearcoat started to peel (normal per rustoleum)

It should last a LOT longer than 5-6 years if it's a quality product with proper prep. If it's something you found in the big box store I guess that's about right.

Good Job Ryan. You got about all the life out of the floor you could for the product used. If it holds up that long again you will be doing well.
