Epoxy Floor Repair Advice

Looking for some expert input on repairing my older epoxy garage floor. It’s been about 10 years since the original install. Most of the surface (around 70%) is still solid, but I’ve got a few high-wear areas with chipping that need attention.

This is part of a broader garage refresh—new lighting, cabinet upgrade (leaning toward NewAge Pro series), and ideally a targeted floor repair rather than a full recoat.

Has anyone tackled spot repairs successfully? I’d appreciate recommendations on products, prep techniques, and blending strategies that won’t make the patched areas stand out too much.

"successfully" is relative. I don't see any way you're going to make that match very well. Spot repairs I generally "tap" around with a hammer to see if anything else is coming up then grind them out with the Makita. My spots are "newer" than yours, so I re-dye the concrete, feather the edges, then apply polyurea. But they are hardly perfect... and sometimes worse than where they've come up.

Can you two-tone the garage? IE, square this area off and re-coat the entire area, make it look like a 2-tone was intentional?

Hmmm. Probably won’t look good with a stripe. I wonder if I repair as best I can then do an entire top coat? Does GJ have any ArmorPoxy contacts?

With your type of refresh I'd just go ahead and re-do the floor. New lighting and cabinets will just make it stand out. It looks pretty worn in your pics which is expected after 10 years.

30% blemish is a big number to me.

With the rest of the refresh renovations, to me, it's a floor make-over at the same time.

If you decided to patch in and attempt a color match, trust me, the floor is going to end up looking like a Dalmation dog.

I'd diamond grind it all off and start from scratch. < $5 sq/ft if you do it yourself. Longevity is alllll in the prep. Grind down a mil into the existing concrete, muriatic acid, dry for days and then start over.

If you know the product that was originally used and it is still available you can probably get away with an easy clean and recoat. If not you might have to grind it clean.
