Has anyone had a good long lasting experience with an epoxy floor without a vapor barrier under the concrete slab?
I've been bothered for the last 5 weeks after I had a new concrete slab poured in my garage without a vapor barrier. I wish I'd done some research before the pour. My garage though is attached to my house. Its a split level house with a basement next to the garage that is lower than the garage floor. The garage is on foundation footings. I've never seen water or dampness in the garage. The exterior of my house has a good pitch going away for any water runoff. I've done the test with the 2' plastic taped on the floor with no signs of moisture. I feel comfortable that moisture won't be a problem but I worry about those freak storms that dump a ton of rain every once in awhile. I guess its a gamble without a vapor barrier but how have other people done without one?
