Morning ,my question today is can you paint over an old epoxy floor that in good condition, or do I have to remove it completely

Do you want to paint over an epoxy floor or do you want to install a new coat of epoxy?

If the existing epoxy coating is down tight, then a recoat is acceptable.

Prepare the surface by sanding with a 100-120 grit screen. Wipe clean with denatured alcohol.

It is important to prep correctly or failure is imminent.

Yes you can. Sand lightly or scratch up with a buffer and 3M type pad then clean off well any dust.

3m pad is not enough. Use a sanding screen.
Quality coatings need more grit to break the surface enough for a successful recoat.

If you are prepping paint or maybe a lesser coating bail and grind it off.
Frankly, if a 3M pad does the trick, grind it off.

Sanding is good but messier. We have sold tens of thousands of recoat jobs using 3M type pads on a buffer with zero delamination issues. Our epoxy has special bonding agents in it which eliminate the need for sanding which may be required with other brands.
