Epoxy Floors vs. Water!

Hey y'all,

New guy here. I'm in the planning stages of doing my floor, but have a quick question. My garage is used for many hobbies, the most major is brewing beer. I am trying to decide on a floor that will be easy to clean up, but won't be a major hazard when it gets wet. I've seen the additives that you can add to epoxy and wondered if these will really help keep the garage floor from turning into a sheet of ice.

thanks in advance!

I know that the additives will help in providing grip. The problem is that if you add to much it will make clean up more difficult. What I have heard is that people just put more in places they know they walk more and less in the areas they don't. It seems like it is a judgement call to me.

If you are brewing beer and there will be moisture on the floor on a regular basis, you would want to use an anti-slip additive. I would also see if they have a gloss top coat available. This may seem odd when you want a non slip floor, but.... you can still use the anti-slip with the gloss, and the top coat sealer will have better protection. Be careful not to spread the additive too heavily in one place, it does create a rough texture and will make it harder to clean. Hope this helps.
Off Topic- What type of beer are you brewing and how do I get some?:spit:
