thinking of using epoxy for a pool surround, surface is old and has some cracks in it and starting to flake. have a nice power washer to clean up the surface with, has anyone used epoxy on a pool surround, how should i go about filling the cracks prior to applying. pool located in chicago so the climate pretty much stinks. do you guys think it will hold up?

I assume the pool is outside?

- Fill the cracks unless you want them to show after applying the epoxy.
- Make sure you put antislip into the last coat
- Epoxies will change color in UV light unless they have a UV protection in the mix.
- Don't apply in direct sunlight
- Watch your outside temperature. Most epoxies cannot be applied under 40-50*F and they don't like massive temperature fluctuations.

DON'T DO IT!!! Epoxy is slippery as hell when wet! I don't care how much grit you add to it to try to increase traction, it isn't worth it. If you ever have visitors or neighborhood kids over, that's a personal injury lawsuit waiting to happen. :scared:
