Looks great. Congrats.

Are those the Kobalt cabinets? Interested in your review of them once they get some usage.

Yes they are. I have four more 48"ers (Jumbos) coming for the other side of the garage.
I have read many reviews. For some they were a PITA to assemble...others not so much.
I decided to have Lowes assemble & deliver them. That way they're responsible for them.
I had a little issue with one door and they are going to deliver it & replace it no problem.
I figured if I put 'em together they could say I did it during the transport or my assembly.

Amazing!! Very jealous of that driveway, paint job and cabinets. What did they do to the driveway - is that paint, tile?

Looks very well done. I like the diamond plate chair rail.

That was one of the easiest parts.
I purchased a 4'x8' 06 diamond plate sheet & had it sheared to 5" strips then sheared to length.
The drywall installation was easy.
I drilled holes in the diamond plate & used stainless steel screws from Ace to secure it to the wall.
The two side walls are cement block/stucco.
I used blue painters tape with liquid nails and let it dry 24 hours before removing tape.

Amazing!! Very jealous of that driveway, paint job and cabinets. What did they do to the driveway - is that paint, tile?

It's actually a sprayed texture (paint).
After the first coat (base coat) they used thin masking tape to make the faux grout lines.
The outside (faux brick) was done last.
The outside (brick area) was covered with paper then the spray texture was then applied.
After the masking tape was removed it was sealed (two coats)
I let it dry for three days before I began to park or drive on it.
The folks that did it did a great job and so far I'm happy with the results.

Thanks everybody for the wonderful compliments.

I want to take some more pics now the cabinets are completed.

It was a kewl project and fun to do.

Now to insulate the garage door.
I'm looking at using Matador Garage Door Insulation, Universal Kit
Criteria: I'd like it to look good and work good. Any thoughts?

One 4'x8' sheet of 06 Diamond plate. I had it sheared into 5" strips.
The back wall is drywall and the two side walls are stucco over CBS.
I used stainless screws and plugs from ACE hardware on the drywall.
On the stucco walls I used liquid nails & painters tape to hold it to dry.

Not sure how this project slipped past my radar. I love it. So neat and clean. Simple and sophisticated. What will be the primary purpose, apart from the obvious storage of cars?

Thank you very much for your kind compliment.

I spent a little time looking at your garage thread. Excellent work!
I see you're a Griots guy. Have you ever been to Tacoma WA?

Polishing paint is a passion, science, art and skill.

BTW - I have a brand new 2014 Audi S6 (38 miles on the odo) to make nice nice tomorrow.
Wanna see pics of the job when I get a chance to take 'em?

Garage Door Insulated. Took about an hour to install. Ran silicone beads on the open ends to hold them in place and stop any squeaks.
Atlas EPS Matador Garage Door Insulation Universal Kit. Exposed face made of High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) Laminate. Looks very finished.

Note: There are residential and commercial kits. If I had it to do over again I'd buy one of each. BTW My hot garage was noticeably cooler.
Why? I have four panels that are 21-1/2" high and four that are 19" high. In my case I had to use my width cut-off as a top filler strip

Residential Panel dimension: 20-1/4" x 54" x 1-1/4"
Commercial Panel Dimensions: 23-1/4" x 54" x 1-1/4"

Just something to check before ordering. It's worth the $10. One of each and I would have not had to use a filler strip. I'm happy with the results.

Here's a IMHO mini-review as promised.

NOTE:
Be sure when you mount them that the tops tilt back a little so the doors swing closed like your refrigerator door.

PROS:
The cabinets and doors are well built quality construction. They have given me no issues so far & I do not expect any.

CONS:
The paint used on the doors is junk. At first they look great but just touch 'em with anything and it makes a stain.
I am referring to the silver paint on the door surface. It seems that even my normal hand body oil stains the paint.

EPILOGUE:
It has been less than a year. The cabinets are solid with no issues but the paint appearance on the doors is horrible.
The cabinets and doors are well made materials. It appears as though I will need to remove ALL the doors and repaint!

If you get these cabinets. (and yes, I do like them) then I suggest you paint the surface of the doors before installation.

Got a question for you guys, I have post tension slabs on my garage floor but I noticed it started to develop hairline cracks (probably shifting as its only about year old). If I were to put epoxy on top, will it crack if the underlying concrete gets a new hairline crack?

where are you located?

Sunny South Florida.

I filled the small hairline cracks as part of the prep work before doing the epoxy.

Beautiful garage. Nice job!

I'm wondering about the storm braces for your door though. I don't see any, which is strange for SFLA

They really don't do storm braces much any more.
The newer garage doors are a bit thicker and hurricane rated.

If anything doors are made weaker.
A Miami-dade door will be strutted from top to bottom.

Even my Orlando door has 3 extra struts.

Did you get a certification from the installer?
