Hello all,

I'm trying get a decent floor in my small UK 1 car garage and wondering which route to go down. I was thinking either Epoxy or tiles? What would you suggest/recommend?

I am slightly leaning towards tiles as they are not so permanent and easier to lay.

If there's anyone from the uk, any recommended companies to use for the materials?

Do a thorough search. You'll find many answers already discussed ad nauseum. A lot of what makes sense for you depends on the usage of the area. If you're doing metal working exclusively for instance, that will require a different treatment than say someone who is doing detailing work.

Personally, I do some welding/fabricating but it's not my main focus. For my mechanical area, it will be largely mechanic work (upcoming engine swap/suspension build/etc...) with a fair bit of welding. I decided to go porcelain and have no regrets yet....mind you, I was sent to your part of the world for work just as my tile arrived so it hasn't even been installed yet :) but I'm confident it will be just what I need. If I was easier on floors I would look at something else. If I were harder on them, well I'd probably just leave as is or maybe look into polishing.
Cheers.

I'd say if "not so permanent" is a plus for you, modular tiles might be the only solution. Of course that depends on your reasoning. If you expect to move in the near future, and want to be able to pick up and take with you, then that's your best bet. If you plan to move and don't want to invest a ton of money in something that you'll only use for a short time, maybe one of the cheaper epoxy solutions would give you good results for the time you spend there, and for a lot less money.
