Epoxy over wood flooring?

I have a manufactured hardwood floor (veneer) in my new home and have turned a small closet area into a firewood storage facility. I'd like to protect that floor and am wondering if self-leveling epoxy would be a good solution. Mixed reviews elsewhere and this is kind of a unique application.

No UV exposure, will it yellow?
Will it crack if the under-floor joists settle more? It's been 2 years of settling already. It'll only support 1-200lbs of firewood at a time. One square meter of floor space.

If this is a dumb idea, I'll use tile.

I would go get some bargain or clearance laminate flooring.
Cut to fit and set it in place. No attachment needed.
Replace when it gets ugly or remove and throw away when no longer wanted

Since it's in a closet, you could put down a scrap piece of carpet.

Both good suggestions so far that I've also considered, but I'm going for a permanent solution. Here's a pic of the storage. Those studs are wrapped in copper sheets. Would epoxy fail? Could I lay tile over it later if it does? It's basically epoxy or tile at this moment. I had a 2mm clear vinyl sheet in there last year. (not in the pic, behind the lower left corner is the wood stove.)
