Hi all. I know you’re supposed to grind away the sealer on a garage floor before painting, but has anyone just painted over the sealer? I would rather just touch up the paint once in a while rather than grinding.

the epoxy needs to make a mechanical attachment as well as a chemical one. The sealer prevents or diminishes the ability to do so.

Not a good idea to bypass the process epoxy floors need to last.

I just had an individual not get it all the way off. :dunno: He is using someone else's system and had purchased some repair products from us. Trust me when I say you DO NOT want to do this

Hi, we strongly recommend removing any sealer since the sealers repel coatings. Alternately you can just cover over the floor with garage tiles like our www.supratile.com or similar.
