Epoxy primer concern

Hello I just painted the garage floor with the Legacy Industrial "Standard Epoxy Primer Coating" in preparation for their Nohr-s coating.

My problem is in one small section all these spots are showing up.

What is causing this? Should I be concerned? Does is need a second coat of primer after the first dries? (I still have a half gallon ready to mix if more is needed)

Help is really appreciated.

This is a great example why primers can be good to use. They are called the ugly coat for a reason. I would suggest giving Legacy a call and email them the pic while you are still in the recoat window (hopefully). It looks like there was a contaminant in the concrete that caused that reaction. It's hard to tell from the pic.

Thank you, I will see if I can reach them. Fortunately as it dries it's looking better. I can only imagine how disappointed is be if this was on the primary coat.

Looks like oil. Even if that looks good I’d worry about it lifting

I decided to just continue moving forward. Luckily it's in a spot where it would be difficult to drive on if I tried and with the flakes you have to look very closely to see anything. I think the primer took the blunt of the impact. With the black and grey flakes you can't see anything wrong with it.

In the end I coated the floor for protection and ease of cleanup not for a showroom finish.

Did you grind or etch? Let us know how it turns out. Going to coat in a week and a half if all goes well and would like to know how to proceed if I run into this problem.
