Epoxy Question

I purchased some Amerlock 400 epoxy I could either buy enough to do 500 sq ft or 1000 sq ft. My garage is 660 sq ft so I purchased enough epoxy to do 1000 sq ft.

My question is should I do one coat which will use most of the epoxy then do a thin coat over the top the next day. Or should I just do one thick coat?

Then if I do the two coats would I put the flake in after the 2nd coat?

Any help would be appreciated.

With our product I would say 1 thick coat, but you really should refer to/call the manufacturer, they know their product best and can advise you on your best course of action.

I replied to this question on DIY too...

I agree with Christine - 1 thick coat is the way to go in most cases, but she makes a good point - verify that with the manufacturer of your specific epoxy.

Good luck!

I called the store I purchased it from and they said to apply one thicker coat followed by a thin coat the next day. This seems kind of weird to me since if the 2nd coat is thin it seems like it might not stick as well. There isn't to many Amer lock vendors so I think I'm just going to do what he said and see how it turns out...
