Hi all,
We just moved into a house six months ago and getting around to organizing the garage. As part of that I would like to go lay an epoxy or Racedeck floor. I am leaning towards Racedeck due to the ease of install and I really just use the garage for small projects. It will be more than enough durability-wise.

Here's the dilemma. We're in South Florida and the neighbors tells me that the garages in the neighborhood flood a couple of inches whenever we are hit with a hurricane that dumps alot of rain on us.

Anyone on here have experience with flooding on their Racedeck floor? Would epoxy be a better choice?

Thanks,
Angel

Thanks. So to understand you, the tiles lift off the floor and float on the water? Did you have to re-lay the floor?

If you have nothing on the floor at all, the floor would float with some serious flooding and would not unlock. worst case I could see would be that you would need to slightly re-adjust the floor if it settled back down in a different position

did not have to do anything, tiles floated in the middle of the garage but were well locked in by lathe, mill on one side and lift on other side. Had about 3" of water both times.

Got it. As far as drying when the water recedes? Any possible issues with water getting trapped under the tiles and building mold?

Thanks again,
Angel

RaceDeck patent design is a full suspension flooring that is channeled to allow air and moisture to flow freely. Also RaceDeck is made from a high-impact PP that is non porous so mold and mildew will not effect the RaceDeck
