Epoxy repair time

Hello,

I am new to the forum and this is my first post. I am a DIYer and leverage UCoatIt on my garage floor about 6yrs ago. The floor has withstood some solid abuse over the years. I have a two small spots that have flaked and the sheen has peeled away in a few spots where the cars come in and out.

I had a professional flooring company visit yesterday to give me their advise. The company installs a polyaspartic coating which is apparently a better over epoxy for a variety of reasons. Nonetheless, the rep was quick to say the current floor was much better than most (referring to other epoxy floors he has seen). He mentioned that I could repair the current floor by renting a sander and removing the current top coat, then re-apply the epoxy, then then a new top clear coat. If I go down this path, I would rent a concrete grinder to remove the entire current coat.

Curious to get other thoughts. Thank you.

I have a stocked showroom on the south side of Indy if you are interested in seeing actual applications installed. I can hook you up with a local installer if need be. I can even get you numbers on removal as I have the equipment to do so. I'm assuming you are in the Indy area.

Yes, I am in Indy (on the north side). I will ring you this afternoon for additional information. I am thinking more about sanding the top layer and re-applying a gloss coat. I have researched various products on various forums. Most report good success shortly after applying, but I am curious to know how coatings have held-up over the years for people.

I just got off the phone with UCoatIt. I almost forgot that they offer a lifetime warranty with their product. Unfortunately, I do not have my paper work which stinks. Nonetheless, they are going to research my purchase.
