I painted my 2 car with the Home Depot 2-car kit, did pretty good prep, including 4 rounds of pressure washing. There is one section that looks 'flat', and kinda sticks out? Any idea what causes this, and would a poly or other top coat rectify this? Overall it's ok, the slab was not in particularly good shape and Im on a very limited budget, so Im fine with it not being perfect.

thanks.

I didn't use a primer. The floor was well-etched as well. Looking at it up close, it looks like the darker sections have deeper gloss, maybe I didn't roll it consistently. It almost looks like some parts are "gloss", and the other are "semi-gloss". It's a solid functional floor on a VERY low budget, but still, I'd like a more uniform look.

Scotty's diagnosis sounds right on the money, especially for an older floor. Adding a coat of clear might hide it a little more, but the only way to even it out for sure would be to add a second coat of color.

I used the Pro Epoxy Shield (solvent based) and can say that 2 coats of color are defiitely needed. I called Rustoleum before starting the job and asked about applying a primer. They did not recommend a primer, maybe this is beacuse they don't make one? Anyway, so I viewed the 1st coat of color as my "primer" coat. After applying the 1st coat my floor looked like you described yours. Applying the 2nd coat (put on a bit thicker) made all the difference in the world. I followed that with a couple coats of the Rustoleum Premium Clear and could not be happier with how the floor turned out and how it has held up for the last year.
