Hi, everyone. About three weeks ago, I had my garage slabs ripped out, a vapor barrier installed, and new slabs poured for the purpose of having epoxy floors. I also had the stem wall in the garages smoothed out so those could be epoxied as well.
I am concerned about potential moisture coming through the stem walls and causing an issue after the epoxy is installed. In searching this forum, I see a few recommendations of painting the stem wall that’s matched with the epoxy. That may be an option if I cannot use epoxy.
I do have flower beds that are on the exterior of some of the garage stem walls. The other sides either connect to my house or have a walkway/driveway on the other side.
Can dry lok or something be applied to the stem walls to block moisture while also allowing the epoxy to bond? Should I really be concerned about moisture coming through the stem wall?
I’ve attached some pictures for reference. The first two are readings from the moisture meter of the stem wall that has the flower bed on the other side. The second two are of the stem wall with the driveway on the other side.
All thoughts or any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am ready to get this garage project finished but also want to do it the right way. Thanks.
