Epoxy vs latex cement patching material

Hi,
I'm new here and planning to coat my garage floor later this spring (still a little cold up here in Minnesota). This will be the first time doing such a project, but am somewhat handy in general. I have a 45 year old house. The garage floor is in generally good shape, but some spalling/pitting from salt/snow over the years. Not too deep; nothing over a 1/4" deep.

I will likely use the Rustoleum Professional EpoxyShield system, as it seems like it has pretty good bang for the buck. I looked at their epoxy patching material, but it seems like that could be pretty expensive to fill all the divots. At the end of the project, am I going to see much difference if I go with a latex cement patching product? I understand I'll need to wait longer before I can apply the epoxy, which I can deal with.

Thanks,
Paul

In my experience using both those products, the little epoxy patch container goes a long way. It is expensive @ $20+tax per kit, but I patched maybe 14 feet of crack 1/4-1/2" deep and used approx 1/3 of the kit.

I did not attempt to patch a large shallow area, though (spalling). Your mileage may vary.
