Epoxymaster.com Metallic Epoxy scratches easy

I just Installed some Epoxy master Metallic Epoxy into my 4 car garage, Beautiful Product, but scratches easy. I can drive on it, park on it, no problems, but if you sweep it and get any little sand under the broom or slide a chair or table across it, you have a scratch. I email Marco Zaccagnini at Epoxy master and tell him. All he said was we sell a EpoxyArmor. I already spent $2400 on product to cover 800 sq feet. Their websites states this stuff is strong, Well it wasn't for me.

Metallic epoxy should always have a top coat applied no matter which product you choose. Epoxy will show scratches, especially metallics with the darker colors. A good top coat, such as polyurethane or polyaspartic polyureas, will not scratch as easily and do a much better job at protecting the surface from scratches.

^^ What Shea said. Metallic epoxy should ALWAYS be coated over with SOMETHING. Even a clear epoxy is better than nothing.

The reason you need to add a urethane is that we are talking a typically dark, deep glossy finish. Like a shiny dark pond. Any scratches will not only show but will stand-out.

The same floor with a light colored epoxy and flake would be a much better choice if that added expense of the urethane is skipped.

I used a sealer on my floor, but I did not know that about Epoxy needed a top coat. Good piece of info.

I think these one post rants should be deleted, this is not how GJ works, we are a community and it sounds like you are just using us as a platform to piss on someone else.

I appreciate the feedback, I looked for reviews on companies selling Metallic Epoxy and did not find any. I think it is important for people to know about companies. I would have been perfectly fine with epoxy master had he said you should put a clear protective top coat on instead of saying our epoxy's do not need a top coat they are strong enough.
He mentioned i will need a base coat before putting the metallic layer down. Then when i email them and ask about it scratching so easily all he said was we sell a clear top coat go into the store and you can order it.
