Epoxyshield clear: touch-up vs 2nd coat

I put down a coat of Epoxyshield clear top coat today, two days after my second coat of Epoxyshield epoxy. Despite my best efforts I did miss some spots. Has anyone had any success using a kit to touch-up some missed spots soon after the initial coat?

I've come to terms with purchasing another kit, but I'd prefer to touch-up despite the waste because: (1) a second coat would require two new kits; (2) I worry I'd just miss spots again and end up in a similar situation (though presumably those missed spots would look better than the 1st-coat-misses); and (3) it looks pretty good other than the missed spots (I wouldn't otherwise feel like a second coat was necessary).

But... if I try to roll over the missing spots am I going to end up with obvious roller marks, maybe making it look worse? I called customer support and they thought a touch-up was doable if I do it tomorrow, but didn't seem too confident in that answer.

(BTW, they say they will refund me the cost of the second kit I used today given how terrible the coverage estimates are (I barely got by with two kits for 400 sqft)).

Thanks in advance for any responses.

The touchups will stand out just as much. Coatings do not blend like paint on a wall. If your goal is to not see those spots, then you will need to do the entire floor. The exception would be if you have contraction joints that act as a natural border. If the spots are contained in one section, then you can just coat that entire section only.

Thanks! I was hoping for a different answer but figured this would be the right one. I'll do another coat and try to do better. Thanks again (here and on your site).

Shea is right on . Topcoat does not fix problems generally, and attempting a spot repair will look exactly like that, a repair.

Thanks. I ended up buying two new kits and doing a full second coat. I was again imperfect but it was much more forgiving than the first coat. Time will tell, but I'm pleased with how it ended up. To Rustoleum's credit, they are reimbursing me for two kits - one for each coat - based on the grossly inaccurate coverage estimate.
