Epoxyshield Pro Question 4 layers and clear

I'm looking to coat my floor. I was planning on a gray floor with red border. I was planning on two coats of gray and then two of the red on border then clear.

Gray 2
- 16 hr wait
Red 1
- 16 hr wait
Red 2

Clear coat

The clear coat goes on 16 hrs after the last red which should be fine as the clear coat can go on 16-72 hrs after the last coat, but it will go on 48 hrs after the last gray. So I'm guessing I'll be okay with that too?

Also has anyone done this many layers and will I run into any issues?

Do I maybe only need to do one of the red instead of 2 since I have 2 layers down already?

I'm also debating the Epoxyshield Pro vs. U Coat It vs. Epoxy-Coat.

I did two coats of the Tile Red and a coat of clear on my floor without any problems.

You'd probably need two coats of red to get full coverage over the gray.

In reality, you are looking at one coat per day or 72 hours between the second gray and the clear which shouldn't be a problem.

The only problem I see with your plan is masking the line between red and gray. You might have problems with lifting the gray when you go to remove the tape. You could also have problems with removing the tape. I had some seepage under the edge of the tape at my overhead door and at the gas curb that made the tape almost imposible to remove.

Can I make a suggestion? If you have a concrete curb in your garage, use that as your accent. Unless you are planning a 3 or 4 foot wide border, cabinets, workbenches, tool chest, etc. will cover most of the border and you'll never really see it. Just a thought, plus will make the project a little simpler.

I didn't think about the stuff covering the border but you are right I'm not going to see much of it.

you will have to do two coats of each product to get an even coverage and look.

tip... Use duct tape to mask bare concrete and the regular Blue 3m masking tape on top of any epoxy product. Let the epoxy set for an hour then peal up masking tape. Use the recommended epoxy thinner to clean up any runs or leaks under the masking tape.

If you really want a definite straight line between colors.. you can use pin striping tape on the boarder and clearcoat over the top of it.
