Wow, those boxed sets look like jewelry the way the light hits the chrome.

It's a very nice touch to add an X-Frame to each set. Sure wished I could've added at set. Hopefully they'll have some released in 1/2"dr soon!

Yeah, the x-frame per kit was a nice touch as they cost ~$25. Not sure what I am going to do with 4, 10mm wrenches though :D

Don't worry about being overstocked, you already know that the next time you need a 10mm wrench ---- they'll all be hiding out in the missing sock dimension. You'll end up doing what all of us do. Strip the nut with a 7/16" wrench and then trip over the 10mm as you run to get a bandage for your bleeding knuckles. :lol_hitti

My order arrived today! Everything looked perfect expect that I was missing a 19mm from the 10-27mm set. Called HJE and Wright will be sending it out since it was missing from the prewrapped package.. Should be here in a few days!

Big thanks for HJE for putting this together! Im really digging the 10mm x-frame.. I think I'll be seeing more of those in the future [emoji41]

:bounce: :rocker: :bounce:
My order showed up this morning at an unusual delivery time.
My UPS driver normally shows up in the afternoon. :D

- Wright 2015 Epstein's Day 9/16" wrench (didn't qualify last year so bought from clearance)
- Wright 7" striking prybar (12" overall)
- Wright 5pc 3/4dr metric socket set (24mm, 32mm, 41mm, 50mm, 55mm)
- HJE (Wilde) purple 10 T&G pliers (yes, purple. long story)
- HJE (Enderes) 6-n-1 screwdriver
- SK chromed emblem
- SK 3/8dr ratchet repair kit (to convert a 1/4dr ratchet to 3/8dr) (already done )

I have absolutely no need for large 3/4dr sockets, nor do I expect to ever have that need, but hey, when has that ever stopped a GJ member from indulging. :lol_hitti
I saw them and just had to have them.

I also got the Lufkin tape measure, SK racing hat, and the HJE Day t-shirt.
Thanks to Jori, the staff at HJE, SK, and Wright for making all this possible once again.

Alrighty here's my haul!

- Wright 4430 1/2" 18" Flex-Head Ratchet
As you guys may have seen, I recently shimmed my HF 1/2" flex-head ratchet because the head was floppy. It did fix it but I got to thinking maybe I'd get something a little nicer. Since Epstein's day was here I thought I should splurge on a Wright flex-head ratchet. Well I didn't get a flex-head ratchet... I got a lethal weapon.

I am flabbergasted by this thing. It is beyond beefy.

Which of these do you think is the huge SK XXL 36" Breaker Bar and which is a ratchet:

Answer?

I had calipers handy so I measured them:
Handle Diameter - SK = 25.4mm Wright = 28.5mm
Shaft Diameter - SK = 16mm Wright = 19mm

It's also got really solid detents on the head with a ball bearing that goes into recesses. I doubt I'll be needing to shim anything on this beast!

- SK 3/8" 21 Piece Set

This box set is beautiful. I was really curious how the finish was going to look on the box since I've got a ton of the vintage SK box sets with the green crinkle paint. This one looks great though in smooth glossy green. I'll be keeping it in my car so I'm totally covered for the whole useful range. I also got the free 10mm X-Frame wrench which are very nice. I've already got a 1/2" one I grabbed just to play with and I'm sure some day I'll splurge on a whole set as they are so nice.

- Norseman Hi-Moly 29 Piece Mechanics Set

Sharp enough to cut me playing around with them! Look super nice like jewelry in drill bit form.

- Various Clothes and Tape Measure
View media item 62189
I saw that they had old 2014 shirts in the clearance area so I grabbed one of those along with a reflective HJE shirt. Both are pretty cool, but the sad thing is I didn't get the Wright shirt. :( I'll PM Jori and see what's going on with that though. Maybe there was just a mixup or something. I did get the SK racing hat which I'll rotate in to keep my long hair under control as per the consensus other thread. Tape measure was a nice little bonus too. It's a metric/inch combo.

Also I bought a new back drop. Can you tell? It looks like it was school picture day at Tool School.

Thanks to Harry Epstein's, Jori, Wright, SK, Norseman, and everybody else who helped put this day together! It was fun and expensive!

Mine came today too. Thanks HJE for the excellent packing job and the tape measure. Thanks SK for including the 10mm x-frame wrench and hat with my box set, can't wait to try it out! And to Norseman and Mastercut for making deals for us. This is actually my first good rotary burr, and I don't even know what I'll use it for --- but I'll be prepared when I do need it! Thanks again!

Items received Wright 42" 3/4" ratchet, SK sets 3/8" drive standard and metric, tape measure, hat and t-shirt.

Box art thrilled my wife and daughters. I'm thrilled to be rid of my cheater bar.

Where did you find all those SK wipers on the HJE website? I only saw little canisters but no loose packets.

Careful, looks like the interior of one of those sockets isn't painted! Better start a rant thread about it...

(Thanks for the nice pictures is what I'm actually trying to say!) :lol_hitti

Ha as soon as I transferred that picture to my computer I noticed it! It's a beautiful set.

Looks like Firworks found my all time favorite drill bit set.

I'm sure they'll be my favorite too!

Great pics Fireworks
I have got to get one of those Wright 18" flex ratchets.

It's not high tooth count or fancy, but people could say well built brick shithouses are built like a Wright flex-head ratchet!

Man, they don't make 'em like that anymore!

Well, they literally did in this case! Maybe SK will bring back more retro type stuff. I'm gonna tweet them some pictures of this and maybe some of my old vintage green box SK sets. I've even got one that still has the advertising insert in it.

wow, those SK sets are PURDY!

SK's still got it in them to make some nice stuff. The finish looks as good as my chrome WrightGrips.

The head is ~46mm wide. It's pretttty big.

I noticed that I had missed a phone call (Friday?) and started looking and had missed an E-Mail from HJE. Shot them a reply this morning. Sounds like they still have the SK 11/32 combo wrenches on backorder.

Thanks to HJE for the customer service.

Not too concerned about it but just wondering if anybody has bought some with similar markings

The "flower petal" forging is normal. Above a certain size (apparently 23MM) Sk uses a different forging process for those larger sockets. Those flower petals (instead of it being a solid mass underneath the broach) are the result. This was either confirmed by customer service or the rep on this board, can't remember which....

The 23MM does look like it had some tear out on the drive end when they forged that portion. Doesn't affect it's use, but it does look nasty. I'd talk to Sk about it, but again, it does work.

My package arrived today.

-10" HJE Tongue & Groove w/ Green/Yellow Grips
-Wright 9/16" Epsteins Day 2015 Combination Wrench
-Wright 3/8" Dr Deep Metric Socket Set
-Wright 3/4" Dr 3-1/2" Extension
-SK 3/8" Dr Extra Long Deep Fractional Socket Set
-SK 3/8" Dr Impact Extension Set
-SK 1" Open End Crowfoot

I was so excited about the shiny sockets that I forgot to get a bunch of stuff in the photo. Also really impressed by the Wilde pliers. They feel a lot beefier than my Channellocks.

The only hiccup was the SK set had a duplicate 7/8" socket and was missing the 15/16". Should I contact HJE or SK about that?

Thanks for the reply, I'm not worried about it because it works. I've just never seen a socket like that before.

I have a whole set of 3/8" drive Metric Cornwell's with drive square tear out like that in about a third of them. Its just what happens sometimes.
The 23 looks like its got a tiny bit of rust starting in the internal corners, shows why the paint the inside silver now.
Put them to use, they are fine.

Packaged arrived yesterday. My 3/8DR open head ratchet is on back order. Everything was packed really really well.

Sad that the Wright multi bit doesn't have the clear red handle like their regular screwdrivers anymore. On the other hand the 1/8" slotted driver from Wright does have one nice beefy handle.

That little double square is one of my favorite tools, keep it in my apron and use it all the time.

Nice! The Wright screwdrivers look like Pratt-Read.

I'm sure they are. I really like those tri-flute handles. I've got a couple Wilde drivers with the same handle shape.

Is there anyone else in the USA that does private label screwdriver manufacturing at the same volume as Ideal/Pratt-Read?

Me too!!!!!!!!!!!

So after receiving my shipping notice from UPS, the delivery day has come! As I am puttering around the house, I see the brown truck pull up. YES!!! My new tools are here! The UPS guy gets out with a package a flat as an envelope. What the ....? Obviously not my new tools. :( But the silver lining is that my tickets to an upcoming Packers game are now in my hands! Happy guy! Although still waiting for my HJE box! BTW, went back and looked closer at the shipping notice and it did say from StubHub. Oh well.

So is 2016 Epstein's day a wrap? Is there anyone still waiting on something?
Has anyone broken their new stuff yet? Hopefully it was a good experience for all concerned.

Still waiting on my order due to the backordered SK beak pliers. They offered to send the other stuff now with no additional shipping charges, but I wanted them to save them some money and not do two shipments.... would rather see them stay in business a long time than get my stuff earlier;)

Maybe I will be last this time around:lol:

Also still waiting on the back ordered beak pliers although I had them ship the remainder of my order. I couldn't wait like Buck because I needed a couple items now.

I've had mine for a few days now. Too busy/lazy to go take pictures. Still have a couple small wrenches on back order (11/32 I think).... Still good stuff and thanks to HJ for the event.
