I was looking at the calendar and realized April is half over, the friggen snowbirds should be packing up to return from where they came and, I haven't seen anything about Epstein's Day 2022 :wtf:
Now, I realize that it isn't looking good for US Tool manufacturers. there are supply chain issues, worker issues, people are having issues making ends meet and that there might not be much interest in American made tools, seared flesh, fireworks, or apple pie this year. Hell, who knows, Jori and the gang might even be getting tired of us overworking them over a summer holiday weekend :dunno:
It might be too hard to do this year given the way things are but, I just wanted to throw it out there that July 4th is coming.

Fedwrench, Interesting timing. I just thought about Epstein's Day today and checked if anyone started a thread. It crossed my mind when my secret decoder wheel reemerged from the clutter on my workbench.

Explain again how this works, please.
In July we get a special box (or plain box) filled with tools from Epstein's.

Here is last year's thread-

Edit to add;
Epstein's day has never been about the deals, free shipping, or enticing people to participate. It was about willingly supporting American Tool Brands, a small American business while eating seared flesh and apple pie on Independence Day.

I order from them a few times over the year it seems, one at Jul 4 to show support, then again a month or so later when I see all the cool goodies others bought.

As quoted from Fedwrench above, not expecting any special deals, tho there are a few, but just a show of support.

I also order from HJE throughout the year because they carry a lot of stuff that is difficult to find in the big box stores. Amazingly their prices have held fairly steady over the year to date so I give HJE major kudos for that. But HJE Day is sweet because you could win a fun trophy or you could get an awesome shirt if you meet certain requirements.

Despite the supply chain crisis, we are already in the planning stages for another Epstein's Day. While we've seen significant delays for certain manufacturers we've been trying to stock up and change our ordering patterns to keep more stuff in stock. More details to come but plan on a regular ol' Epstien's day coming around the 4th of July.

Jori,
Do you plan to offer the mystery bags again this year? My kids loved them. OK, really I was the one who liked them. It was fun discovering some unique tools. I understand if you cleaned out the inventory of odds and ends during the past few Epstein's Days, but I'm in for a few again this year.

Sure, we can bring back the mystery bag.
Will you guys stock the new MIUSA craftsman stuff when it comes out?https://toolguyd.com/craftsman-tools-usa-factory-update-may-2022/#comments
Not sure if they'll sign some exclusive deal with lowes or home depot or how that's going to work, but if they're available and US made, then we'll definitely give them a shot.

I'm sure most people got this Email from Tekton and figured it's worth posting:
Hello,

I'm John Amash, the CEO of Tekton, and I wanted to share exciting developments about our US manufacturing efforts. More and more of our tools are now made in the US, through a combination of our in-house manufacturing operations and partnerships with some of the best contract manufacturers in the country. The percentage of USA-made products in Tekton's lineup is now over 20 percent, including angle wrenches, crowfoot wrenches, dead blow hammers, groove joint pliers, hard-handle screwdrivers, high-torque screwdrivers and nut drivers, pick and hook sets, and several tool storage products. Our next USA-made category will be flare nut crowfoot wrenches.

Our in-house manufacturing capabilities include CNC machining, broaching, laser engraving, vibratory polishing, and pressing. Although we maintain strict control over the materials, processes, and specifications everywhere we make our tools, we believe there’s no substitute for working in our own plant with our own equipment. So we’re working hard to expand our in-house manufacturing capacity.

To encourage you to try our USA-made tools, I’m providing the promotional code below. It gives you up to $10 off the highest-priced item in any order of $100 or more placed with a new or existing account on Tekton.com. While I hope you’ll use this code to try a USA-made product from Tekton, it will work on any Tekton.com order of $100 or more.
I love Epstein day (I dare you to wear THAT shirt!) because it shows our interest in a small Kansas tool retailer doing it right.

And I can't help myself but to put this video right about...here. Hate me later

I've made these threads a Sticky many times but never ordered from HJE. I keep telling myself, I need to check out Epstein's Day when it happens but it always gets back burner'd.

Well, I needed some socket rails, looked at several places online and just at a glance, saw the Sticky. I went to HJE website, placed my first order with them.. . . couldn't wait for the special day.

Are you going to leave us hangin with that code....? o_O
GIFT10

I got the email March 10th and posted May 6th. Left it off due to the following "Enter the promo code at checkout on Tekton.com to receive the discount. Expires Tuesday, March 15, at 11:59 p.m. ET. See details" The Honey Add-on for your browsers does that too. They find 22 promo codes others entered as valid yet none are. I didn't want to give false hope for a promo code and toss it out there to the wild.

They give many promos if you subscribe to their emails, but I enjoyed that this one from the CEO showing how they're still aiming for the "USA Made" market I really want in a tool. Heard Craftsman is in the same boat with Proto or whomever attempting to bring the name back...but that's just rumors thus far in my world. I ain't seen anything with confidence that it's factual or just talk of hopes and dreams.

Ya'll were on-board quick with Epstein's Day, and the first that I know of really pushing to bring this stuff back home. That's what found me wanting to post here really. I'll pay more for American Made but you really don't have to pay more. You just need to hit up the local stores, keep them alive, and not let Chinesium **** off Amazon into our tool boxes. Maaan, I about went off on a rant on stealing critical R&D that I'll just tuck back into my pocket for now. But if you ever get tailed by horrible Xenon headlights, that's ebay/Amazon headlights, and a kid with a spare $10 bill. Spend years making A-Arms for a fix to a vehicle, they'll have it close in year for 1/4 the cost.

Anyway, July 4th is coming. I'll be in line to give Epstein some shipping duties as the smell of cordite fills the air. Look at my avatar...that's my Capt. America "outfit" and couldn't be more proud of what I represented doing so.

Looking for wisdom on YouTube, I found out about a type of springy center punch I had never seen before. Some people also use them as nail starters, nail sets, and door hinge pin motivators.

And of course, HJE has them for a fair price:

And now for a musical interlude:
