I somehow missed the extra secret decoder code Jori posted, and completely forgot that things got started early this year, but still pleased with my selections! Looking forward to my box art, too, which I spent way too much time thinking about. And very happy to be able to order a t-shirt as well!!

So when I first placed my order, a Pending Card Hold from HJE was on my bank account, the card hold went away, but the order wasn't shipped and the amount never deducted from my account. Is my order still okay?

Yes. Authorizations will go away after a few days but they’re still pending. We only capture the funds for what we ship out so you wont see a charged from us on your card until the order is pulled and ready to go.

As I forgot to request box art my order arrived as record speed.

I might have bought a few more SK T-handle Allen wrenches than I realized. I also was gifted an unexpected award.

Every year I swear I’m going to hold back and yet somehow my order gets bigger every year.

@jsackin have you ever considered stocking the Gorilla Grip folding sets from Bondhus? I prefer them over the eklind sets because they’re double sided, and the combo metric/standard unit is really handy (serious I have at least 5 of them).

I took your objective advice! At first I wasn't sure which sizes to get, so I decided to compromise in the traditional GJ-fashion and just get all of them, and ordered the 18 piece 7mm-24mm full Metric Set. Figured I hadn't bought myself anything nice in a bit, and also that assuming there are sizes I'll "probably never need" is a surefire means to run into something in one of those sizes in the near future. I know many others share this mindset as well!

Also got myself the "contour grip" long hand 1/2" Wright ratchet because... well, just because I've always wanted one of those too. :ROFLMAO:

You have deterred the 15mm and 16mm goblins for years to come!

I forget which of those I have on my VW GTI, rear caliper guide pins, but it's such a funky (narrow, tight access) and rare occurrence that I'm happy to use my stamped steel "cone wrench" from the bicycle department of The Underground Lair.

That being said, I'm pretty sure I have 15, 16, 18, 20mm in my combination wrench set nowadays. You never know when they're going to throw some odd size in there! That's how they get ya!

Our mailman walked in my shop office yesterday with a box! I didn't get a lot, but got some really great items. I daily carry CeeTee pliers on my belt. I missplaced my pliers during planting and got a new pair at a local store. They have changed the design and made them slimmer. This makes them not fit snug in my fob, so they fell out, a lot. I saw that HJE had the older version, so I got a pair. They fit nice and tight in my fob. I didn't need a lot of Wright, so I purchased shirts for my wife and I. I also got a cat rock for my sister that just had a birthday.

Got mine today, a reused Homak box, and lots of brown paper keeping it from rattling in transit. My mystery box is the two Tekton stubbies and the vintage {Fairmount} spark plug tool, still covered in Cosmoline I assume. The T shirt has a great logo, (tho a better color shirt would be nicer), congrats and thanks to the artist, a great piece.

The surprise is the Proto cabinet screwdrivers, someone posted them above. I have a set of Grace gun screwdrivers, with wood handles, but I hate to pull them out for dirty projects. The plastic handles will be great, but I didn’t notice how long the shanks were. Someone commented I needed to be careful with them, don’t want to hurt someone ;).

Got some tool rolls, a bench brush, socket organizers, odd sizes of metric combos, specific T Allen wrenches for a sharpener, and other goodies.

Thanks Jodi and all the HJE staff. Can’t wait to see what the rest of you got, so I can see what I missed.

Those Proto cabinet drivers are really superb. I bought a set some months ago and love them. They are all straight-blade, of course, and I paired them with a complete set of Williams philips drivers in my drawer.

As for my Epstein's Day haul...

A Sands 4-foot level (fills in a gap for me)... a Matco dead-blow hammer... an Estwing engineer's hammer... a Wright stud remover... a good Magnolia steel scratch brush... a very small wire brush for getting into crevices... a Magnolia bench brush with much stiffer bristles than the grease-magnet HF dust brush that will now go in another spot... an Osborne scratch awl... a couple of Rabone Chesterman decimal inch rules... a General pin vise... an Atlas flat-face air-hammer bit... two sets of the Crescent nut drivers (one SAE and one metric)... and a warehouse broom. The mystery item was a vintage spark-plug wrench of as yet undetermined dimension, but which I hope will fit the spark plugs on small engines (in which case it has a spot reserved for it). A Wright wire spark-plug gap tool was part of the order but needed to be shipped later, and it's on the way.

Oh, and a set of Wera Joker bicycle wrenches. Jori called me to tell me the ad used the word "ratcheting" by mistake and did I still want them. YES! What makes them particularly useful is that they are thin. And they are 12-point wrenches with an open end, like flare-nut wrenches but without offset and without being too thick. Mechanics' wrenches are too thick for the jam nuts frequently used on bicycles. The bicycle-industry versions of these wrenches are called "cone wrenches", and are properly used for adjusting bearing cones (which usually only have two flats), but these are stamped from plate that is too thin and weak for jam nuts. These Wera wrenches are forged and strong and the correct thickness. I had already exceeded my budget so I had to get the more abbreviated set, but those include the most common sizes used on bikes. (The French VAR bicycle tools are also excellent and their U.S. distributor is a friend of mine, but they don't make tools they think are already made by the general tool industry.)

I received my package today. HJE gets the award for the best box.



I got an award as well. I guess they liked my limerick.



Everything arrived safely and was well packed. 4 Gross-Stabil miter clamps, some aviation snips, a mini come along, and a 24” adjustable wrench. The wrench was supposed to Wright, but they gave me a great deal on another Made in USA due to availability issues. I am quite happy with everything. Thanks HJE!
