Haven’t seen a dedicated post about this year’s Epstein Day. I figured I’d start her up. Looking forward to seeing which company partners up with HJE this year! I think it’s been Wright for every Epstein’s Day I’ve participated in but I’ve seen Wera, Ko-ken and others begin to feature prominently so it could be interesting. Anyone have anything they are dying to grab? I’ve personally been looking to add to my ruler collection at work with some more English-made Rabone Chestermans. I’ve really loved the one I bought a year ago and use the hell out of it at work. I’m already thinking of what kind of outrageous box art to request too. 😁

Pardon my ignorance, but what happens on Ebsteins day? How big is the tools sale on the site (%)?

Not about the sales prices, tho occasionally there are some.

You can search the archives for previous years’ stories, like here, just change the year.

We're making the calls and pulling it all together. So far we have a generous donation from Wright to make the official Epstein's Day shirts. Lang is going to make a good deal on those 2 piece mini pry bars and Malco could possibly do something on the eagle grips. Other than that we have calls out to Channellock, Norseman and Council Tool, just to name a few. I'll let you know as I hear more.

It’s funny because Wright was not my go-to for tools, but now I have a ton of their wrenches, sockets and ratchets because I always buy their stuff on Epstein’s Day to support the companies that support HJE. So I think I own more Wright hand tools than just about any other brand at the moment. 😂

@jsackin do you guys have a branded nail/waist apron? That’s a piece of swag I could certainly go for, more so than yet another tote bag.

You can search past threads but, it's not so much about tool sales. At it's core, it's about supporting a small business and buying American made tools/stuff. The 4th of July theme is perfect for this, Mom, Seared flesh, apple pie, fireworks, red, white, and blue etc.

there might be swag with certain purchase amounts. The box art is great and worth waiting for. It's not what Epstein's can do for you, it's what you can do to support Epstein's & American tool manufacturers. I know it's a lost concept.

What is swag?
I thought it was scientific wild @$$ guess?

Swag or schwag, as some say, is known as promotional items or goods given to people who attend or participate in an event.

The mini Lang pry bars have been on my very short list. How can it become more of a deal? Also been wanting a pair of Eagle Grips since all the commotion from here. I can't wait.

We are almost one month away from HJE Day 2023. I can’t wait! I look forward to this day every year to support HJE and USA made tool companies. I have been participating since the beginning in 2012. What is everyone getting this year?

I’m adding some rulers, some snips, and some miscellaneous Wera stuff. I may throw some clamps in but I have really decided for sure yet.

Definitely need more drill bits!
This might be a good chance for me to replace all the broken/missing bits from my "around the house" sets. I have one nice set cobalt drills in a full index that I replace with good bits when I break them, but my general purpose sets are a mess.

I try to buy lightly used and NOS drill bit sets on the secondary market. The price of drill bits is outrageous, and I refuse to pay retail.

I will pay retail for what I can’t find on the secondary market. Left handed drill bits, for example.

I use the NOS USA sets to display in vintage drill bit stands and indexes.

The sets not matching or marked USA are “users”.

Once you “have enough”… get picky. Try to buy perfect sets or interesting stands and indexes.

I have a whole drawer of indexes of partial sets that I continue to build.

Once you have enough hardline tools… it is time to start hunting down all the tools in between… and you can’t have too many drill bits.

Heading into Epstein's Day I thought I'd do a series of videos highlighting small US manufacturing success stories. The first is Rudedog USA which is a specialty tool pouch manufacturer (mostly for ironworkers) but they're branching out into other fields. Might not be exaclty what you guys are looking for but thought you'd enjoy the story.

CHItoolanddie, I will probably buy some Wright stuff and maybe some CS Osborne upholstery stuff for HJE day… and some odds and ends… like some Lutz file handles in sizes I can’t find at estate sales. I like the NOS stuff they carry, too.

I need to go there with an overtime check… and just look through everything…
