Saw this in the new items and was reminded one of my favorite things about Epstein’s is their selection of pocket knives from around the world. Off the top of my head they have mercators, douk douks, higonokamis… I like collecting these because it’s interesting seeing the unique designs people in different places come up with to accomplish the same basic purpose.

Thanks for the pocket knife idea. Hope everyone can post what they are buying as I definitely benefit from the inspiration.

Have a couple of pocket knives added to my cart now. The Douk Douk knives look beautiful for $20

I bought the 5 piece Columbia Machete set a couple of years ago. While originally purchase for the impending zombie apocalypse I have been using them to cut back the growing horde of Ivy in my yard. Highly recommended.

Epstein's Day 2023 FAQ:

  • "When is it?" ⏰
    • Since July 4th falls on a Tuesday, Epstein Day will officially start on Saturday (07/01) and go through Wednesday (07/05) which means it begins 12:01 central time for those that like to get their orders in early. (This way you can stay up late on a Saturday night and not have to work the next day.)
  • "How do I get those sweet sweet GJ prices?" 🎰
    • Create an account on our website then message me on GJ your email address so I can add you to the group.
    • If you've already done this in years past you don't need to do it again.
    • If you're unsure if you've done this, just ask and I can tell you if you're signed up.
    • When you order be sure to leave a comment that says, "Happy Epstein's Day" or something like that. (An Epstein's Day trophy will be given to the customer with the best comment.)
    • Also, there is a discount code this year so be sure to enter it at checkout!
  • "How long does it take for me to get my order?" 📫
    • Since we are about to be flooded with orders it takes us longer than normal to process everything so please be patient. We will work as fast as we can.
  • "What is box art?"🖼️
    • We have a team of people that like to draw on boxes. If you'd like your box painted just send a request in the comments box such as, "Box Art" or if you want to be more specific you can say, "I'd like a jazzy robot from the future that doesn't take any ****". Keep in mind if you ask for a picture of your dog we don't know what your dog looks like. Be as vague or specific as you want, but box art does make it take longer. Also, it's free so you can't complain if you hate it. (There will be a trophy given out for the best box art request.)
    • I'm pretty sure if you checkout with Paypal there is no way to send a comment so you'll have to email us your request ([email protected])
  • "I am so excited to tell you what shirt size I wear but I don't know how?"🙋‍♂️
    • If you qualify for an Epstein's T-shirt you need to tell us your shirt size. You can do that in the comments box, but like before, if you're checking out with PayPal you might need to send us an email to let us know.
  • "What about the deals this year?" 💵
    • Anyone that orders $100 in Wright Tool merchandise, will get the official 2023 Epstein's Day T-shirt (while supplies last). The t-shirt is designed by my part-time pancake flipper full-time girlfriend Kimmon who will also be drawing on some of the boxes. I'm taking the design to the print shop this afternoon so once I have everything worked out I'll post what they look like. If you don't qualify but still want a shirt you can buy one for $20. I'll post them online once they're ready. (You don't need to add them to the cart if you qualify).
    • Lang is knocking a buck off their mini 2 piece pry bar sets.
    • Norseman has offered up a hi-vis orange 29 piece vortex drill bit set for raffle. If you order $50 or more from Norseman you'll get a ticket in the raffle and a chance to win the set. Last year's raffle didn't have a ton of participants so the odds were pretty dang good. Also there were chickens involved.
    • Channellock is offering their 6 in 1 combination screwdrivers and their 6 piece screwdriver sets on special.
    • We still have some Tekton stubby screwdrivers and stickers from last year so anyone who orders Tekton we'll get free swag.
    • And just in general we have a large box of swag - Knipex coozies, SK Wright and Channellock stickers, Council tool merch, etc. so when we see someone ordering a brand we try and throw those in.
    • Epstein's is offering 15% off all of our closeouts this year. There's a super secret discount code that's available which I will share even with unaffiliated members. You need to put in this code at checkout to see the discount! The code is: second hand stores If you want to become a full-fledged member and take advantage of these discounts all year round you should buy a decoder ring.
    • That's it for right now. As always, thanks so much for doing this, and I'm sure I've forgotten five things that I will have to edit after I post this.

Will Tekton offer any deals for this year?
Not this year, but if you order Tekton we have lots of swag from last year we'll throw in. I have been working with them to get one of their big roll around tool boxes down to our shop along with their angle wrench and crowfeet sets, so that's coming soon.

Is any of the Wright stuff going to be on sale, or just the shirt? I'm eying a 3/4" drive impact set.

You mention entering a discount code for this years Epstein day. Is this code in addition to the decoder ring code for the 15% off closeouts? If it’s different where can we find that code?
Thanks!

Is there are consolidated page that lists all of the WW2 surplus stuff from last year? I remember there being some cool stuff on that list, but I can't figure out how to search for it.

That stuff seems to be mostly "Clearance" stuff. I load the clearance section and scroll through. If I had something specific I was looking for, I'd search for that, and specify clearance.

We're making the calls and pulling it all together. So far we have a generous donation from Wright to make the official Epstein's Day shirts. Lang is going to make a good deal on those 2 piece mini pry bars and Malco could possibly do something on the eagle grips. Other than that we have calls out to Channellock, Norseman and Council Tool, just to name a few. I'll let you know as I hear more.
I saw your video on the Epstein website...I'm messaging young J Sackin and I would like to be included in your specials, discounts and swag give aways...I've been coming to your brick and mortar store since 1987... Dana Meier

I’d like to be apart of Epstein Day! First time hearing about it! Big Wright tools fan!

Heading into Epstein's Day I thought I'd do a series of videos highlighting small US manufacturing success stories. The first is Rudedog USA which is a specialty tool pouch manufacturer (mostly for ironworkers) but they're branching out into other fields. Might not be exaclty what you guys are looking for but thought you'd enjoy the story.

Rudedog USA
Thanks for the video on Rudedog, very interesting. Please include me in Epstein Days. First time on the garage journal.

Hello, everyone.

You guys (and gals, I guess) don't hear from me very often. I am quite confident some of you will say "Uhh... Who's this guy...or gal or whatever?" Well, I'm a guy (since birth, if that matters to anyone.) I might earn the title of being a HJE superfan. (You can ask Mr. Steve and he probably would give you his take on me.)

With this said, I have quite a selection in my cart. With the 15% off of closeouts...I'm eyeballing the 1/2"-drive SK impacts. Let it be established, that I'd never buy these new; to me, the company of SK is a dead company. On the other hand, I own a lot of tools from dead companies. I'd like to own a lot more. In fact, after Epstein's Day, Lord willing, I will.

With all of that out of the way, this purchase might be a record of mine. Well, it'd be a record as far as dollars spent; I've had orders that I bought more items. Enough of that digression.

Jori made mention of adding stickers to our boxes if we buy enough of a certain brand names (and if they have the stickers for said brands.) What do you guys (and gals - Hey there, ladies!) think about stickers advertising tools and such? I buy (and check out) used tools boxes/chest/cabinets/etc. The majority of them have stickers of different tool, automotive parts, lubricants/cleaners, and so on...companies. I am on the fence about should I remove the stickers of the boxes that I have. I have an adhesive removal spray. Do you think I should let sleeping dogs lie? Should I bring them back to original?

Probably the best question is: should I quit procrastinating, find an exhaust manifold for a Ford 302W, put it in the place where I took off the broken one and get my mean truck running and back on the road again? That would be until I get the welding skills and (more) equipment to make my own long headers.

Okay, I need to get back to Epstein's Day, as per the topic of the OP. It's a shame that there won't be any obvious discounts on any Wright Tools (with the exception of what's in the closeout section.) That's not stopping me from getting some more (like, a lot more) Wright ratchets. If I don't earn at least one Wright sticker, I must be failing. What I'd do with that sticker? Uhh...I don't know yet.

I've an idea! If someone wants to buy me this https://www.harryepstein.com/54-14-dr-cabinet-rb-slides-red-53-17-32-w-x-42-3-8-h-x-18-3-4-d.html and/or this https://www.harryepstein.com/wright-tool-wt962-9-drawer-top-chest-with-rv-slides-54-red.html and/or to be punished with this https://www.harryepstein.com/side-cabinet-locker-17-3-4-w-x-56-15-16-h-x-18-3-4-d-red.html I'd would be mightily tempted to apply a Wright sticker to one.

Yep. That right there is a long post. That's why I am not on here very often; I know my struggle to edit the lengths of my messages. You should see the texts that I send people. If I was someone else, I would not be thrilled to see a text from me.

Whatever the case may be, I hope everyone is having a fun day. Try to enjoy yourselves, your job (if applicable,) and your family. That brings to mind, if anyone wants to work and is capable of working as a tire tech, mechanic apprentice and/or a mechanic for tractor-trailers and would like to move to mid-state SC, we are hiring. God Bless to you and yours!

very respectfully,
J.J.

but... :giggle:

it's got a ohmmeter on it. My buttset doesn't have that.

real looking leads & bed of nails. easily a better set than the $25 set on monoprice that's my spare/loaner. everyone should have one -- if only for the fun of driving friends crazy.
