The time has come for our third annual Epstein's Day.

In brief: three years ago I had the idea of a group-buy type event to support H.J. Epstein, a small family owned company in Kansas City that has been around a long time and which strives to offer USA made products at competitive prices. Another member had the idea to combine the day with our July 4th celebrations. For the last two years this has worked well; we celebrate our country and also support a company that is connected to some of the values that our country was built upon.

Here is the company website: http://store.harryepstein.com/

Here is the plan: Any time on July 4th, from midnight to 11:59PM, you make a purchase from them via their website. You might purchase just one item or many items. You include a note with your purchase that expresses your participation in the GJ Epstein's Day event. That's it.

Don't forget to check out their beyond-cool box art.

Have I missed anything?

I'm in. I've looked at their site many times but have yet to order. I have a few Wright purchases in mind.

In. Just ordered a tool from them yesterday. I'll definitely find something to buy, great company. Received a personal email letting me know when to expect shipment. Not much to some people, but I certainly appreciate small things like that.

They have fantastic deals. Bought a sk hex t-handle set (made by Facom) from them a while back with the new Armstrong aero ratchet, and instead of charging for separate shipping he emailed me asking if i wanted to wait to group them together to save on shipping because the ratchet was on back order (garage journal cleaned him out lol).

If anyone is ever curious about shipping I encourage them to send an email and ask. Fantastic customer service in my experiences with the company.

Boom! I'm in too.

Question: do you know if Epsteins plans to follow last years program where they threw in the Armstrong Screwdriver, Wright T Shirt, and Craftsman ratcheting screwdriver with various order quantities?

The only reason I ask is that every time I see those items in my tool box, I am reminded that they were part of last years Epsteins Day. I think, how nice of Epsteins to do that for their customers who want to support them.

I am still in regardless... just curious.

We are working on what we will do this year. We've been talking to various manufacturers, and are still figuring it out. It won't be the same as last year as we like to mix it up a bit. Regardless, there will be something special.

Thanks again for all your support.

Is there a discount for gj members?

Why?

You may want to refer to the threads from the two previous years provided in Bulls post below.

I can't find anything big that I want/need, but I've got a bunch of little stuff in my cart already. They're a great place to buy USA-made odds and ends, like air couplers. I'm also stocking up on USA-made screw extractors. I'm sure I'll find more!

Wish I had $1,000 to blow on all the goodies they have over there that are USA-made and useful in my toolboxes. But I figure I have $100 or so I can spend without the wife getting too mad.

In for some Proto and Craftsman brand stuff. They also have a little Armstrong and Wright stuff, but I gotta pick and choose my battles with the funds I have.

I'm in for sure. Last time I didn't see the thread until a day or two later and missed out on the excitement. Still found some items to buy.
