equipment list needed

This week I plan to go and drop the money for 2 pieces of equipment for my garage.

Miller Diversion 180
Miller Spectrum 375 X-TREME with XT30 Torch

What other items do I need to buy? Currently all I have is a Miller 210 Mig machine.

first thing to do is buy a hypertherm powermax 45 and forget about the spectrum.

A tank + gas would be nice. Also, not sure how your Diversion is going to come as far as options, but if youve never TIG welded before I would recommend a standard torch and pedal setup. My Maxstar came with a torch w/finger control and Im not really a fan, having quite a bit of experience TIG'ing previously.

all bought today, should have it all in late next week. the PC was out of stock until middle of next week. I didn't plan to buy today but after looking at things i jumped on it. this is a local place that was no more than $100 more expensive than online on each thing, they are a warranty center plus they are the repair center for this area. I figured why not because at least now I have a contact in town who might go out of their way to get something done for me.

Your going to LOVE the Hypertherm. Makes the spectrum look like a child's toy. What made you switch? Keith

Sabercatt made me look into the Hypertherm. Once I looked into them I got hooked then when I got to the shop and asked the guy whe agreed that the Hyper was the way to go.

i went from a lincoln pro-cut 80 to the powermax 45. The powermax cuts better, the consumables are cheaper and last longer, and its so small and portable. you'll be very happy with it.

Those who mentioned the Hypertherm PowerMax 45 (I have a 30) should also note that the you better have a good compressor along with water filtration. The Hypertherm's like dry air-- but they are world-class units.
