Equipto parts cabinet restoration

I have an old Equipto parts cabinet. It was my grandfather's. Anyway, during a move I let it sit outside for a day or two, covered (I thought) and unfortunately it started to rust. It was originally gray. Has anyone restored a metal parts cabinet? I was thinking of soda blasting it. Maybe I should just leave the outside patina and focus on the inside of the drawers. Thanks.

Soda blasting typically doesn't remove rust. It's really only for paint removal.

The main rust is inside the drawers, and actually it is just rust from the hardware inside the drawers staining the drawers themselves. I almost thought about taking this to have it professionally sandblasted but it is pretty expensive for just that.

If it was outside for only a couple days the rust shouldn't be that bad. Try some Evaporust or similar products.

Wipe it down with a heavy coat of WD40... that should get rid of most of the rust, if it's just formed from being outside a few days.
