just ordered some ernst stuff and im curious to see peoples set ups. I think i msy have messed up i ordered the 8" rails for my 1/4 drive stuff....im hoping to get 11-12 sockets on a couple of them do you think thats possible?

i didnt go with the 13" because theirs no way i would have got my shallow and deeps on 1 of them (21 sockets sae 23 metric) so decided to have a rail for shallow and a separate rail for deeps....

any pics would be great

And the 18's would fit in my box but not in my pit box for the track....

Just saw some of their stuff at the National Hardware and Home show. For the rails, make sure you order the twist magnetic ones. I have older ones that aren't magnetic and the magnetic rails looked and felt really nice. Their wrench holders are made of a very flexible plastic, not hard like you might think from the pictures. Very nice. Sorry but I don't have many pictures. Try a search on google and select "large" for the picture size. Will likely find many GJ posts.

try any of the tool organization threads, there is a 'search' function for a reason.

Why not lay your 1/4" sockets down next to each other and see how long they are?

I got some of the SK 1/4" hot deal sets that came on shorter rails and absolutely love the shorter rails. I'm not sure how long they are but I think they have ~9 sockets and could hold a couple more. They work great to quickly grab and take with you.

do a google search for ernst, then select "large" size. This will usually spit out lots of good photos, many from this forum!

For my impacts I use the Hansen trays:

3/8" and 1/2" Impacts:

For my chrome sockets I use the Ernst Socket System (www.ernstmfg.com):

3/8" sockets:

1/2" sockets:

Took those pictures about two and half years ago. The sockets don't look nearly as nice but the setup is essentially the same. Kept me from losing a lot of sockets over the years and the box has remained very organized.

I have Ernst rails, don't like the flexible rails, more so when impacts are loaded on them. I am now switching to MTS magnetic 1/4 turn/lock rails for my larger box's. I may try the locking Ernst I have for the Road Totes. I do have a couple Aluminum rails that use allen head to hold post in rails, can mix 1/4 - 1/2 on same rail. I don't recall the Mfg. of them.

Got some of the handled ones for when need to take the whole thing.

Have one of the angled wrench racks as well. Works ok.

Have a few rails as well. Added a 1/4 that isn't in the pic. The 3/8s full of impacts starts to sag a bit, but I don't carry them all much.
