Hello Garagejournal enthusiasts,
I'm wondering if one of you could help me with a small matter, below you see two pictures
63 Mill.
73 Mill
As you can see, when I put the deep 3/8'' socket on the rail it sits higher than it would normally. A whole 10 millimeter higher. Now, the rail I put it on for test reference is a cheapy Kobalt rail I got with some sockets, I like it a lot, but they don't sell them seperately for a good price in my opinion. Which is where the Ernst socket rails come in the question. How high would it sit on one of their rails? If anyone could take a vernier caliper and measure a random socket off and on the rail, I would very much appreciate it.
The reason I ask is, I went looking at a toolbox today that I'm wanting to buy, but with that Kobalt rail my tallest socket(the one in the pic) barely kinda fits, it really doesn't, because it scrapes the ceiling of the drawer a bit but it does close without topping over.
I would measure it myself, I really would! But I've yet to acquire some Ernst rails because I don't live in the states, and my plane doesn't leave until 6 weeks from now.
So basically, I'm hoping the Ernst rails need about 2 or 3 mil less clearance than this rail.
Thanks for reading/measuring!
