Nice job!!!
I graded everything, tested the top soil, limed it, tilled it into subsoil, seeded rolled and added the erosion control mat. I do have a some grass emerging now.
Dramatic improvement. . . well done. Now, August is a terrible time to plant grass. Too hot, not enough rain. If you plant now you will need to water the daylights out of it. Or, wait until September. If you wait you will need to keep the weed from growing. Roundup will be your friend.
Thanks for the advice. My wife has been watering in in the morning before going to work. Good advice. I have a few weeds already. Maybe what little grass I do have growing can hold up until cooler weather. You are right about the weather. Before I planted grass it rained almost everyday. Now, It hasn't rained in about 12 day with the heat index over 100 the last 3-4 days. Go figure.
When I plant grass, I probably overseed if you ask most people but I have a theory on planting grass and it has worked out well for me... of the grass you sow, 1/3 won't come up, of the 2/3 that comes up, another third of that will die off. Don't mow it till it goes to seed for the first time.
Did you put any straw down on top of it ?
Great Job, your now a pro!
