No, that's not a typo. Industro, not Indestro.

Browsing Lowe's website, I came across socket sets made by Industro Tools.

Company's website: http://industrotools.com/

The contact us page has links for an office in the US and a location in Taiwan, so I would say that the COO is pretty obvious.

Sounds like someone's trying to piggyback on the old, good Indestro name?

Almost a text-book case of Trademark infringement. Unfortunately, the Indestro mark has expired, so no action is possible.

Yup, this had been noted several times here.

It seems like an Indestro knockoff, but in reality who outside if this forum knows the Indestro name? Frankly, they could have come up with it independently, but who knows.

They definitely just appear to rebrand the same imported tools sold under multiple brands.

Industro Tools claim to fame is making socket sets that fit both SAE and metric fasteners, as well as everything else. They also make combo wrenches that do the same but the open ends are metric only. They may be made at the same place as Genius tools, but that's speculation. I stumbled across them one day while surfing the 'net at home with the flu.

I did a little research and found the 41pc 1/4" drive set for $25 shipped on Amazon.and ordered it out of curiosity.

The tools are of decent Taiwanese quality, chrome is pretty darn good. I tried them on all the SAE and metric sizes and they really do fit them all. I tried a few e torx and square fasteners, fit them as well. The ratchet is 36 tooth and stronger than I expected. I used them in the garage for several months and they held up fine. They now live in a small tool kit I keep in the house. I like this little set well enough that I'm shopping around for a deal on one of the larger 3/8 sets. It ain't going to replace my Snap-on, but for occasional use, a very handy thing to have.

The set I have is the 00395 in the link below. Amazon, Ebay, Northern Tools and others carry Industro, but prices and availability vary widely.
