Saw this on a car forum I frequent, seems like a good deal, but I'm nervous about such things when it comes to assure 3,000lbs don't land on my noggin.

Anyone have experience with this site or with Esco stands?

Here is one

I use these, made by ESCO: http://www.uniquetruck.com/p-6376-3-ton-jack-stand-flat-top-with-rubber-cushion.aspx

The minimum height is 13", but there's a new version which I think has an 11" height, although the base width goes from 12" to 10". These are extremely stable, and although imports, seem well made. I trust the pin type much more so than the ratchet type.

They are good stands for a good price there. As far as that site goes, I ordered some last Thursday and they are set to be delivered today.

I've been using them for the last 3 years and absolutely love them. Very stable.. Only downside is the minium height is 13" which I feel is a little much for tire rotations..

I've had four of those for several years now - they're extremely stable and well built. There's just no comparison between these and what you would find at Harbor Freight/Sears. And that price is a screaming deal; I paid $65 each for these.

I paid about $68 a piece for them over a year ago and that was the Best price at the time. I Love them, they are sturdy and they are originally made to replace the ones made by AC Hydraulic which you can not get anymore.

My Esco 10498 jack stands showed up the other day from the $36.95 sale. They arrived in good shape and appear to be nicely made. It looks like the price at Coastal Tool is down to $30.54 each. The price seems to bounce all over the place. For $30.54 each I ordered 2 more of these!

I bought a set of these at CPOoutlets for just over $200 six months ago and have used them frequently. They are superior to the ratchet style I used before and feel way more stable. Yes they cost nearly double the price of other imports, but I would feel confident sleeping under my car with these things. Thank you B_Lafayet for the updated link, $30.54 is a steal.

I was tempted at 30 dollars but that thread really puts some questions about those stands for me

I was in the same boat, but since AC's are hard if not impossible to come by, the only alternative is the ESCO models. Overall I am happy with the quality of these chinese counterparts and a 12k rating for a set of 4 is more than most will ever need.

Well I decided to bite the bullet. $70.03 shipped. I've always disliked the common style jack stands, and although I'll still keep a pair or two around, I think these will come in handy.

Thank you B_Lafayet for updating us on the price drop!

I have been keeping tabs on these Esco stands for a while. This is the lowest price I've seen by far. In for 4, hope they arrive soon and in good condition... :fingersx:

Where can you get just the axel post insert? Haven't seen just that part anywhere online.

I've seen them sold with both the flat top post and the saddle post. At some point, I think I saw someone online selling just the saddle post, but I can't find it now. You might contact ESCO directly.

Just ordered another set as the first ones I purchased about 2 years ago I paid nearly $70 for each one. I Love my set, and this is by far the cheapest, will update when they arrive.

They look nice but seem limited in adjustment via the holes vs the ratchet style?

I have 6 ton torrin jacks that I like but these look nice as well. Are these rated at 3 tons per set or per stand?

I ordered 4 stands and they arrived in 2 days. After carefully looking yhem over they appear to be very well made and inspire much more confidence than any ratchet type I have ever owned. I would say it was money well spent. I think they are rated per stand, as that's the way they are advertised and sold.

Yeah, these things are really well built. Have the saddle top version for years and just ordered a couple more. Yes, they are made in China; "yada,yada,yada..." Still, they are a great deal and are still extremely well made. These are the best stands I know you can buy without spending crazy money for a stand that's made in American. These won't disappoint you and they're very safe.

Been holding off on buying these but after all these glowing reviews and this great price I grabbed 4. Hopefully these are as nice and good quality as everyone says as I've been needing more jackstands!

Damn 30 bucks a piece. I paid 50 or 55 a piece last spring and was glad to pay that at the time.

As far as quality, they have held up my POS a few times, once for 2 months. I have great confidence in these jack stands.

Chevys break down a lot

That particular corvette is a real pain in the **** too. If its a manual transmission and not put into reverse when parked, it drains the battery dead in about 30 mins. Least thats how they were in 05/06 when I worked at a chevy dealership. Hated that particular corvette model. They had tons of quirks with their electronics.

Not to drift off thread. My only intention with showing that picture was to show the jack stands being talked about in use. They are great and one of the only ones on the market with a flat pad on the top which was/is perfect for supporting cars such as 97+ Corvettes with the jack pad points on the frame rail.

I think that was 05 only. Mine is an 07 and doesnt have this issue.

Most electrical issues can be traced back to a questionable battery or loose grounds. There is also an issue with aftermarket plug wires where the alternator picks up the RF(or something) from the #1 plug wire and the alternator freaks out and you get a "service charging system" message. Swap back to factory wires and the problem disappears. ALMOST everything else can be traced back to bad BCM's, which is pretty common on all GM cars.

I, knock on wood, havent really had any issues with my car. Did the head fix along with a cam, headers, etc..., but this car has 70k miles on it and runs like a scalded cat.

The GOOD thing about Corvette's is the enthusiasts have discovered all the problems and developed good fixes for all of them. One reason I got back into a Corvette(had a base model 07 back in 08/09 time frame) this time around was because of the aftermarket and enthusiasts. Its the same reason I also have Jeep's because somebody has "been there, done that" for almost every mod or issue you might face.

Great to hear! Same reason I drive a Tacoma :3gears:

Opened up my 4 stands today. They look like they should be a pair for 30.00

The post inserts on all 4 are rusted and pitted. The bases are not rusted but scuffed all over the place due to shipping, zero packing. When you toss a large heavy piece of metal into a box with a painted piece of metal and only have a half size loose piece of cardboard as the buffer you didn't package them correctly.

Yea they are only jack stands but guys who paid 50-70.00 a piece last year must have been pissed, or they have them made at a cheaper China plant now.

3 out of 4 are welded crooked as someone else posted but they'll work, they aren't too bad. Can they not even have a straight jig to weld stuff.
