Got this at an estate sale on friday. Any guesses what I'm most excited about?

Nice.

My guess:
The knockout punches.

But the saw caught my eye first.

If you say the stubby screwdriver, you have a problem and should forfeit all tools to me forthwith .

It depends what you're into, but I see the hack saw (neat looking old solid aluminum), toolbox, mic, and a really nice 12" square with adjustable stop. The rest of the stuff is all sweet, but only things that I'd end up beating on.

The GJ rule is that one must state the $ paid. Looks like a box full of nice stuff.

I'm guessing you are keen on the T-handle as well.

Well it was the yellow Proto combo is what originally caught my eye, but when I started digging and saw the Snap-on T handle ('43 date code), I was pretty well sold. The good/bad of the T handle is that is had been filed down form 9/32 to 1/4. The bad is its not all that 'collectible', but the good is that it is more usable now, and I plan on USING IT!

It was a nice mix of cool unique things. The green lee punches are in nice shape. It wast until I got home that i realized there were two. I didnt see the Snap-on stubby until I was home either. The mic is a Starrett 0-1". That is an older style 14" Ridgid pipewrench. The yankee screwdriver is a Craftsman, COO West Germany! The hack saw has Bell Systems stamped on it with a manufacturer stamp on the back side. The plain adjustabe is a diamond calk horseshoe. And the Vaco 3/16 nut driver will go nicely with the 1/4" one I already have.

It was 25¢ a tool or $5 for the whole box. You'll notice I got the box.

Overall this box seems to sum up the GJ tool experience for me. A little bit of everything, great quality, great price.

JSBriggs,

I have several screwdrivers marked "Bell System". They are interesting and well made, but nothing to write home about. I suspect they predate the breakup of the Bell System. I don't remember when that was, maybe 1970's?

Does anybody know the date?

EDIT: Looks like I was off a few years. The Bell System breakup occured in 1984. So tools marked Bell Systems would be dated 1984 or earlier.
